Alhamdulillah we have finished lesson five of our preschool curriculum. RA enjoyed this lesson most. It was an interesting topic indeed. We learnt about birds and animals. We brought an encyclopedia from the library. We saw the colorful pictures of birds. They have different types of feet, wings and beaks.
I told her that Allah swt has given us two hands, so we use our hands to eat food, but birds use their beaks for that.
She loved to turn over the pages and wanted me to read more. Then we talked about different shapes of eggs and how baby bird comes out of the egg. She drew some pictures of eggs.
She got some picture books of birds, animals and insects from nanumoni.
We also made the following book from Arabic first. She learnt few animals’ name in Arabic.
We heard the sound the animal makes and read this online book (got the link from sis ummmaimoonah’s blog).
She did these two worksheets.
We also read some books on animals.
RA enjoyed most doing this week’s minibook-"Allah created animals and birds".
You can find it here. All the mini books this curriculum has included are outcomes of sister Umm An-Numan's hardwork. RA was more involved this time because it had some activities other than coloring. We cut and pasted the farm animals.
Riddles were really fun. She managed to do two of them by herself Alhamdulillah.
We did the phonics part together.
One of the activities of this week’s lessons was going to the zoo. Since we have already been to zoo and aquarium three times, we skipped that part. I wanted to upload our photos from the visits. The cd which had the photos is not working anymore. I will upload them later inshaAllah from online elbum.
Arabic alphabets:
We learnt three more alphabets. I taped them on the table for RA to color.
Asmaul husna:
We talked about two perfect names of Allah swt-Al-aziz and Al-Qadir. We pasted few pictures.
Dua of the week:
We learnt what to say when we sneeze or when we hear somebody sneeze. We also read the digital book "Saliha sneezes".
Surah memorization:
Alhamdulillah RA has finished surah Fatiha. I explained the surah from this website. Now she knows that one of the names of surah Fatiha is “ash-shifa”. So we recited the surah when she felt sick or she thought her bunny was sick. She recited all three surahs to nanumoni and dadumoni over phone.
Little helper in the kitchen:
This week’s recipe was RA’s favorite pizza. She likes to spread cheese all over the pizza.
Here is our pizza before going to the oven.
At last pizza is ready.
We made a farm lap book. Details will be here inshaAllah.
Math and literacy update will be here.
With the end of this week lessons we took a long break (one and half week) and we resumed our study from Monday.
Masha Allaah! That is a wonderful week masha Allaah! Am glad all of you enjoyed the week's topic as much as we did. Great progress sis! Barakallaah feekum
